2011

Summing up my year in 2011, I have to say it was a pretty good one.
I made up with friends whom I once detest (not really, I just quarrelled with them) and I also went through a pretty major exam.

Life was pretty good, this is what I've conclude but I have to move on with life for my own good.
So before this year ends as I welcome 2012, here's a few things which I would like to share with you.

So yeap, I started a new year, a new life in sec 5

I made up with Jieqi, Judy and Jessy at the start of the year,
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/01/god-answers-prayer.html

This was the start to my great year in 2011. I was really so happy I made up with them. I still remember I was at Shakery with my girls and they came in and said they wanted to speak to me. I was like "what? what you want now. want come quarrel again is it" and the first thing they said was "sorry." I immediately cried after that. They form such a huge part of my life in Swiss. It wouldn't be complete if I leave Swiss not making up with them just like this.

And of course, I made up with Huimin after that, before the start of O levels. Well... kinda?

I also lived through the royal wedding of Prince William!
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/04/royal-wedding.html

City Harvest Church also moved to Suntec Convention! :D

Swiss winds also got filmed during SYF and we appeared in tv! I was in it too!! On okto!
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/04/updates-filming-study.html
And yeah, I participated in SYF with Swiss Winds for the 2nd time
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/04/to-some-of-adjudicators-out-there-suck.html

I also lived through another election in my life! This is the 2nd in my life.
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/05/elections.html

Went to Mdm's Hafiza's wedding. First teacher's wedding I ever went to.
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/06/rather-long-weekend.html

I went to get a tattoo
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/06/ink-on-my-arms.html
nah, I was just joking.

Had my 17th birthday
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/07/17th-birthday.html

My parents got me a pair of Dr. Martens
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/08/goody-new-shoes.html
And my mum just promised me another one! :D

And I've also gotten a B3 for my O level MT. Which was actually a miracle to my teachers?
All thanks to GOD!
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/08/i-got-b3-for-o-level-mt.html

I went through a major exam, O levels.
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/11/grad-night.html

I made up with Cynthia!! :)

Joined a cell group, n488

I went for grad night and kinda graduated from Swiss. (not official yet until the day I've gotten my O level results!!)
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/11/grad-night.html

And I made up with Denise (bombyourface).
YESSSSS, Shocking and surprising I know.

I had my first steamboat out with friends (yes, at 17 years old I know)
http://chharmanchh.blogspot.com/2011/12/my-first-steamboat-out-with-friends.html

And went on my first cruise trip!

My life in 2011 probably would go so great without the people around me.
From my friends to my classmates, my bandmates and my school mates.

These people really helped me through my year. Very much thanks to them, I kinda found my happy self back, I cried wayyyyyyyyyy lesser than last year and than in 2009.

You people made my year so wonderful, I couldn't have made it though so happily without you guys.

TCSFY
Well, I'm not surprised that we're still together. We quarrel most of the time, everywhere and anywhere even in front of other friends. HAHAH. What can I say? It's funny whenever we quarrel esp with other friends in front of us, freaking them out like we're gonna just stop being friends any minute but know in our hearts it'll be over just in a moment. I must say, I would be more surprise if we aren't together anymore because it'll mean that we'll still childish and lameass immatured girls.

You girls were there to remind me to study, and also encouraged me whenever I wanna give up. I really had fun with you girls. And I really love the KBOX session we have so far. HAHAH! Up for another one?

eh, no need feature one by one. You girls know how much you mean to me.

5Ns

Hey awesome group of people here! HAHAHA! We've finally gotten through the 5 years!! And I know we'll surely miss each other. We're the most united 5N batch ever and we've gotten through soooo much together. We grew so close and were even almost inseperatable every morning during assembly. I will never, ever forget the fun moments we had together. And we're gonna do our favourite thing, which is reminiscing our life in Swiss during our chalet stay!
You guys really made my journey towards O level so much easier :)

Swiss Winds
No need for telling, you people out there should know you people do mean a lot to me. I really love you guys. You juniors are so awesome and thanks for helping me out with mathematics cause I really suck at it (except for the laughing part there).

Batchmates

I also wouldn't make it through this year being such a positive person without my batchmates. Thanks for coming back to Swiss to visit once in awhile and cheering on us, the sec5s.
People like Pesdy, Wanting, Cheekiat and many more. I really hope you guys are enjoying your time out there and please, don't forget Swiss and we'll meet back in school once in a while :)

Jingyin and Zhengyuan
This year has been a pretty hectic year for me and though we rarely contact each other, I'm still glad both of you are here for me. Well basically, you can see you up on my blog post because I'm here to tell you, you guys are still very important to me! Though you guys didn't contribute much to my life in 2011, by knowing I still have you guys was already a pretty huge comfort to me whenever I feel down and wanna give up.

Babe, you never gave up on me, you took time out to help me brush up on my chem. Basically, this year, you were the main person why I really decided to really study. (though I kinda failed at it) but hey, I finally completed a chem paper for the first time in my life. Sadly, the first one was also the last one, during O levels. HAHAH! Whatever it is, thank you!!

2 of you girls are one of the closest friends I had this year. You girls should probably know how much I love you. Stupid blacksheep for always telling me lies and laughing at me whenever I got shocked by Mr Hoon's voice and woke up by surprise. You made me love my seating arrangement in class so much!! Sorry for making you feel sleepy whenever I sleep in class though. HAHA. Didn't know I was so influential :P
And Ajoya! You really made a real big difference in my life. To think I would actually be so close to you when you didn't really like me for being so hyper active and noisy back in sec2. HAHA! I love talking to you so much! Thanks for taking care of me and protecting me when I'm in fights with people :)

Can I call you faithful friend again? HAHA. It's been long since I've done that. Well, look here. From the guy with only a few friends (like lingyu) and with low self esteem becoming a charming guy which so many girls who don't mind chasing you after. I think you're one of the best guy I've ever met in Swiss. Thanks for being such a sweetie, coming down to my house to give me a surprise on my birthday, cheering me up when you know I broke down during english O levels rthat day and so many to name. You're really one of the most faithful friend.

Hey babe. Sadly I only know you the start of this year thanks to Cassa but you've been a really good friend I must say. A true one. I'll miss your loud voice and you shouting my name so loudly whenever you see me in school. Have I told you that every time you did that it makes my day? Though you kinda embarrassed me -.- but really, thanks for making me feel wanted. And I really like how much we can talk whenever we see each other around. It's like we're not really that close at all and yet we're able to talk about so many things and all. HAHAH. Love you babe. I still remember you saving up for me and texting me saying you've saved up enough to lend me money for the heels I wanted to buy. Though I didn't borrow it from you, this little action of yours I will always remember. love you girl!

I'm so glad that you are still concern about me though we've moved on in life. You're one of the greatest senior I've ever met and I will never forget you. I'm glad you didn't forget me too!! See you on results day! Don't scold me if I disappoint you!!

AHAHAHAH! JOSH!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOSH! I'm so glad we're still close. So glad you're still with me even though Zhengyong and Zhiming have moved on with their lives. Thanks for those random textes and thanks for always being so hilarious! I AM SERIOUSLY THANKFUL THAT YOU'RE STILL WITH ME EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE IN JC! We'll meet up soon, have pastamania and pespire like crazy again!!

Ah, you've moved on with life and there's nothing much I can say but really, I miss how close we were and how you, Josh and Zhiming will always be there to joke with me. Whenever I meet up with Josh, Evan or go back to the band, you're always being mentioned to me and yeap, I definitely hope you're having a great time in ACJC. I know and I've heard stories to know that you are :)

And yeah, here's something you've done to me last year so, back to you! The exact same message
"Zhengyong! Happy new year. Thanks for everything you ever did for me. Which is nothing :D"

So glad we found some time to catch up just a few weeks ago. I definitely hope you're doing well. Please do away with your busy schedule and make some time to come back to visit your juniors and also meet up with our batch. Cheng Zhi Ming! I got your name correctly this time unlike last year. I thank you for not forgetting me and also, not forgetting to make me feel guilty about forgetting your guitar on our last performance during affirmation last year! HAHAH! Have a great year ahead!

EVAN!!!!!!!! You're basically one of the best gift I ever got since I entered Swiss Winds and still one of the best gift I've gotten in 2011. I'm so glad we're still able to talk non stop whenever we meet up. Our endless topics to talk about and all. You should know how important you are to me and yes! See you back Ms Tan back on results day! And are we, you and I gonna help to clean up the library with our librarians together? HAHAH

Your random text, your reminders to ask me to work hard, your kiss on my finger cause I got a cut and your concern given to me since the they I've met you in 2009. Thank you so much John. You're a really great guy :) Be less vulgar when I meet you next time!!

Monster(!!) and Dings. I'm glad I've let both of you into my life in 2011. I didn't give you guys a chance to know me back in sec4 basically because I didn't like you chinese boys. I felt that you guys were really childish and annoying. But I guess I'm just as childish and as annoying as you guys are huh? So now I thank you for letting me into your circle of friends whom I've never thought I would ever talk to in my whole life spent in Swiss and thanks for spending so much of your time getting me to pass my chem. I've improved tremendously from knowing nothing (real 0% knowledge of chem) that actually shocked you guys to someone who could actually pass chem! I'm actually smart aren't I! HAHAH! but really, thanks for sacrificing your own study time for mine.

For you Chleo, I'm really glad you've helped me end my year well by making my day the other day and really, by taking a step to get to know me better and by allowing me to know you better.

Cute girl no.1! You this talkative girl! From the girl I didn't have a good impression of at the start because you're the first ever person to stare at me to this girl I love talking to so much. I remember talking to you on the phone for more than an hour earlier on this year. Man, that was my very first time talking to a girl (plus I wasn't really close to you) for more than an hour! And really, I don't even really talk on the phone with anyone at all except for leon?! HAHAH. Whatever it is, I'm really glad to have met you before I left the school.

HEY! You've got a photo of you, yourself! I will miss you singing and failing to throw pens into my shirt man. And I bet you'll miss me saying "ok" and nodding my head in response to you singing. HAHAH! I got to know you so much more and got to be a little closer to you this year. Well, nice to meet you sir. From some cool ice man, I've seen you change and become someone so retarded. yaya, you're being yourself. Ok, I know. Whatever it is, you've made a pretty huge impact in my life this year. I won't ever forget my first time having a buddy meal with an idiot like you. HAHA :)

BOO! So glad we're still as close as ever even though I've left you behind :P Thanks for always being there for me and also, taking care of me from time to time. EH, stop making new batch of friends every year leh! You lagging behind me already! Faster chase up lah uncle. Study hard, stop sleeping in class, I know it's hard but still.. Yeah. And stop trying to make new friends every year cause I'll always have more friends than you! HAHAH! :P

A few people I miss this year, Chingsoon and Zachary. I sure hope you guys have a great 2011 and a happy new year

And for the rest of you, sorry I can't mention all of you here! People like Sheena, Atiqah, Kenneth, Saiful, Leon, Dickson, EnzeCheryl (Nic Young's girlf), Joey (yes babe, I'm glad I've come to know you in 2011) and all. I'm real glad to have you in 2011!

We shall look forward and receive the new year!
We'll move on to something greater :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!

Costa Classica

Bonjour/Salut! Buon Giorno!

Basically, those 2 words are hello, you should recognise the first two is in French and the second one, Italian.

As I have said in my posts earlier and on twitter, I went on a cruise this holiday! An European one.
-Which means, I've been hearing people speak in French, Italian and Spanish. Whether is it the guest on board or the crews.

Which then means that I've picked it up a little since I've been listening to people speak in these languages because whenever an announcement is made, it's always first made in French, Italian, English then Spanish.

Yeap! I had to listen realllll hard when they speak in English and if I couldn't catch what they're saying, it was just too bad for me.

Friday morning, all packed up and ready!!

Over at habourfront to check in the luggages.

Over at pasir panjang...

YAY!!! Ready to board the cruise!!

And if you were wondering.... yep, that pic above with my bro inside is actually the lobby of the cruise. Looks just as much as a normal hotel right!

The coridoor to our cabins!

Then, we started raining.................
We were still in Sg btw, though we were already on board the cruise. Basically, everytime the cruise stops at a certain destination, people are able to get down for a tour or just go around freely on their own!

sorry, I had to do this..............
It's just a habit for me whenever I get into a hotel and see a large mirror in the toilet.
I just had to do it.

So yeap, a view of our cabin! Yeah, it was pretty small. I was pretty disappointed as well because I thought we were getting a suite but instead,

oh wellz.

I was staying on the 5th floor!!

And if you were wondering, we weren't actually exploring the place. Maybe a little? But our main aim was actually to find where the eatery and restaurant was. WE WERE REALLY HUNGRY!!
YAY!!!! Finally found food!!

After eating, we went up on the capri/deck which was on the 13/14th floor
And the view........................................

nah, no view. we were still in SG.

There was even a theatre in the cruise!!!! Every night after dinner, a performance will be put up by their own crew!

Even so, the fact that it was by their own crew, the performances were realllllllllllllllly good! Almost all of their crew members are talented!! They can really sing really really well!!!! And by that, I actually meant opera kind of well.

I don't get it why they aren't doing operas and all but are serving on the cruise. really.

Alright, theatre.

Back in my cabin. And the photo of the cruise which I took earlier on, way up, already started sailing while for mine, still in SG -.-

-_- ship not moving yet

Then, dinner time!!!!!
Only the restaurant is open during dinner. Which is a 7 course meal!!
So yeah, I had western food, 7 course meal daily on the ship. BUT GUESS WHAT! I lost 1kg -.-
Doesn't even make any sense? lol

And around 8pm, the cruise finally started moving..............

went to the theatre to catch the performance!!

And sneaked into the casino..
And got stucked there obviously.. It was just so exciting to watch. Would be even better if I could play though :/

Exchanged some coins. A little but yeah.... everything on the ship is basically in euros!!
Nah, no gambling. I DIDN'T GAMBLE!! Instead, we played in the arcade..
Visited the library after that.

Ordered hot chocolate. And their hot chocolate was reallllllllllllly rich. And thick. So think that it was pretty undrinkable.

Supper time!!

Back in my cabin.

Couldn't really sleep on the first night and woke up pretty early like around 5am?

And sat and watched the sea from my window view till 7am.
Morning faces.

And we reached our first destination. Port Klang!! -KL!!
Didn't get down though, I went to KL too many times. So I visited the gym and jacuzzi instead.
Just visit. Not exercise.
And went for lunch.

Super mini apple.

And watched my bros play mahjong with my grandma after that. I WANNA LEARN HOW TO PLAY MAHJONG!!

Time for Jacuzzi and Sauna!!

And back to my cabin! My cabin steward was really cute. HAHAH. Look at what he did to my bear!!

LOL. TRYING TO ENTERTAIN MYSELF PRETENDING TO BE A REAL ARTISTIC PHOTOGRAPHER.

Apparently failed.

We had art and crafts lesson everyday as well!!

Then dinner again.

Uhm, the crews really love performing and they usually put up a show every night at the dinner table.

3rd day on cruise!! PHUKET!!

One of the waiters I've met and one of my favourite, Delgado from Brazil.

YAY WE'RE REACHING THAILAND!!

At phuket, we had to take a tenderboat to the island because this ship couldn't dork at the beach.

LOL!

Less than 10 mins and we reached phuket island!

Can you see how clean the water is!!!???????????!

We went on a tour a phuket. First stop, elephant company.

Where we had our elephant ride.

And I got to sit on no.1!! The biggest and oldest elephant there!!

Some monkey show. Boringggggggggggggg

Then elephant show.. Poor elephants ): The elephants were so polite!! Esp the baby elephant. She kept saying thank you!! Which I could free them and put them in some elephant jungle and take care of them instead of having them stay there to do tricks.

Visited one of the largest and oldest temple in Phuket

looks like universal studio. lol

k, this is pretty scary. The girl(?) there...

DID YOU SEE THE BUDDAH UP ON THE MOUNTAIN?? The mountain is pretty far away (I used zoom that's why it looks so big) But even if I didn't use zoom, the Buddha can actually be seen from superrrrrrrrrrr farrrrrrrrrrrrr awayyyyyyyyyyy!!

Went to Cheshunut factory after that. (idk how to spell it)

Was so happy I found milo!!!!! I cannot live without milo longer than 3 days! So happyyyyy!! But I got pretty disappointed after drinking it. Their milo doesn't taste like milo at all.

Back to take the tenderboat back to cruise!
The lighted thing there is our cruise.
ok, so this was when my cruise trip started to become a little sucky. I took a different boat back and I forgot to take my motion sickness med.

Guess you can guess what happened after that eh..

I was really freaking nauseas and my head was really painful.
Still, I went for dinner...

After drinking my soup, I vomited everything out and had to head back to the cabin to change.
Didn't know why I held it in and try not to vomit.

It really feels so much better after vomiting!! Though I was all dirty and smelly. lol.
So yeah, back to shower and then right after that I actually went back to the restaurant for dinner.

Talk about me eating too little huh. I ACTUALLY EAT A LOTTTTTTTTT.

And went for the midnight bbq at the capri for more food.

Spot the cute christmas tree in the above pic ^^

And I found out they actually have one of my favourite sauce on cruise!!
TABASCO SAUCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This made me enjoy the food even more.

Ordered hot chocolate again and this time, I really couldn't finish them because it was really so damn thick, I had to ask the waitress to add more hot water into it.

This ship actually stopped at phuket for 2 days. But I didn't go down on the second day in phuket fearing the tenderboat ride because I didn't want to feel unwell again.

So breakfastttttttttt

Arts and craft lesson on that day was to make costume for the costume party.

LOL

Pardon my enthu mom up there.

Dinner time!!

And I asked for Tabasco sauce.

LOL. I don't wanna explain this part here. But yeah. My tutu skirt. LOL

Super cute bottles of alcohol.

5th day, Langkawi

Really had to buy some lip balm because the cruise was really so dry, my skin almost cracked and so did my lips.
Chanced upon this lip ice thingy and decided to buy it for this lip ice thing saved me from looking sickly during prom night this year!!

I was damn pale and looked as if I'm a ghost or something and thanks to Theo, she lent me her lip balm so I wouldn't look so sickly.

And there was this super duper anorexic woman on cruise with us. She's a real example of anorexic! NOT ME!!

Lunch time!!!!

The crews there are really nice!! Because there were quite a few groups of cheenas on board and a few Japs who couldn't get used to the daily European, Italian and western food, they crews on board made an effort to change the menu and also have some Jap/chinese cuisine!!

Efforts noted!!

Lol. They thought Dragons are pretty Japanese.

YAY! MISO SOUP!!

Dinner!!

The waiters decided to put up another performance.

My loots from Langkawi.
I really had to have maggie after so many days of eating European food. CAN DIEEEE.

Went to take a look at the costume party,

Peneng the next day!!!!

So we shopped for awhile and headed to Chinatown street where we aimed to find the famous Peneng laksa and Chao Kuay Tiao!

Found it!! This wasn't the only famous one but we couldn't be bothered to find it anymore. We decided to just settle for this old shop filled with lots of people.

I have to say this grandma here makes the best fried idk what, ngoh hiam everrrrrrrrrr!

YAY! MILO!!

And I must say, Peneng Laksa is really one of the best ever!! It's a must try even though you have to travel all the wayyyyyyyyy down to Peneng!

Their laksa is kinda like mee siam but it's laksa! And it's really good!!!!
Talking about it now makes me drool. Really wanna go back there for it now!

Yes, this is what I was talking about. The grandma makes really nice whateveryoucallthis. It was realllllllllllllllllly good!! Ok, I feel like going back there now. lol ):

Chengdol was pretty good too.
And Peneng's chao kuay tiao!

And if you were wondering why I could take this photo of the custom, it was because there's no one there. LOL. and yet, they make it compulsory for us to walk through the custom.

Then for dinner,
GALA NIGHT!!

Guess there's no need to me to explain about it? Everyone had to dress up for the GALA dinner.
It was also a farewell dinner for us before we the cruise goes to Malacca and then head back to Singapore.

We were wondering who's the people sitting at the table next to us because they were never present throughout the week!!
Don't they need dinner?????

And on that night, we found out why.
They were the captains of the ship!!

Looking so smart. I think I wanna be a captain too! heheh. I'm honestly considering!!

My parents ordered red wine and I was allowed to drink.
not nice though.

OH! btw, the guy behind me was our waiter.
he's really nice and he really takes care of us but sometimes, he really gives us too much food to finish.

His name is Jeorge btw

Farewell performance

Every night, my bear will be waiting for me. HAHAH. so qt

Stuffs done during arts and class by my mum. lol

Ok, and let me fast forward to the last night on cruise! Dinner time!!
Didn't get down at Malacca because we have to take a tenderboat to the shore. Didn't want to risk feeling unwell so I decided to stay on cruise. I tried the Turkish bath which is realllllllllll good!!

Random pic of a shirt I bought at peneng.

And next morning, we reached Singapore.

So this basically sums up my whole time on the cruise.
Overall experience was pretty ok except for the day where we got down to ship and took a tenderboat to phuket then, I felt sick.

Rest were pretty ok. I was actually counting down the days back to Singapore because  I was pretty home sick!!

I was like
me: yay!! 1 more day and we're back to Singapore!
dad: stupid leh. you having holidays and you're counting down.
me: I'm home sick.... :/
dad: home sick? you missing who. your whole family is over here!
me: my bed lah! my room??! Then you meh!

But if I were to rate clubmed and compare it to cruise, I must say clubmed is better. In many many many ways. Especially variety of food wise, food quality wise and staff service. I feel like a princess over at clubmed but duh, because clubmed is pretty much for the ATAS but still..

I hope you guys spent your holidays well!!
:)
